The Halton District School Board hosted Celebrating Service on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Burlington Convention Centre.

The Board had over 140 staff retire during the 2013-2014 school year, representing more than 3,300 years of service.

When Natasha Boshoff and Suaad Issa decided to create a video to challenge the stigma around mental health they had to look no further than their own classmate. This is the story of Becca Cala, a girl who has had to experience the sad twist and turns of fate as a child which some never have to experience at all. Despite her diagnosis with multiple illnesses including, Tourettes Syndrome, OCD, Pervasive Mental Disorder, and ADHD, Becca has become a beacon of happiness, lighting up the days of all around her. The video was a documentary assignment for their Communications Technology course at Oakville Trafalgar High School.
